Q: I have an iPad 2 and am looking for more hard drive space. I see Macally, Hyperdrive, Kingston, and others all offer Wi-Fi hard drive storage devices, but can they all store pictures, music, movies, and apps? I am in need of an external hard drive to add more of my apps, due to my iPad’s storage being too small. I would like to add more apps for entertainment and work! Please help, thanks greatly! – Mike A: Unfortunately, due to the way that…

Q: I have a 120GB iPod classic needing a battery change. I am opting for an in-store change due to lack of skill, and as a result, I am told I will lose all my data. I have my songs backed up already, but I am concerned about losing the artwork manually added (i.e. not inside the mp3 file). Is it possible to use Windows Explorer to do a straight copy and paste of all the MP3 and DB files and then re-copy onto the replacement iPod? Are there any files…

Q: I have recently bought a used third generation iPod touch and it has a password on it and I can’t reach the last owner. I’ve tried the solution in your article Reset Passcode after purchasing used iPod touch and it doesn’t work. When I connect it to my computer it tells me it can’t connect without the password. Please help. – Kyle A: More recent versions of iTunes will block a passcode protected iPod touch or other iOS device from even…

Q: How do I organize videos on my iPad in the same way that I organize my books? I’d like to put them into some type of collections, or if not collections, then folders would be acceptable also. It’s frustrating, not being able to group related videos. Hope you can point me in the right direction. – Ernest A: Unfortunately, the built-in iPad Videos app offers very little in the form of organization, as it’s designed to replicate the…

Q: Please help! I’ll be going to Italy in 3 weeks. I don’t want to incur any roaming and phone call charges when calling back to the U.S. from my iPhone 4S. I know that I can use FaceTime since it uses a Wi-Fi connection, but how do I set it up when I go to Settings? Do I need to select my email address instead of my phone number so that it works while I’m overseas. Please guide me step by step. Thanks! – Alicia A: Actually, one…

Q: I used my iTunes account on my ex’s iPhone. When we broke up I deleted his iPhone from my iTunes devices. However, as I’ve just brought myself an iPhone, I found out that my apps, music, etc, are still syncing with his iPhone. How do I stop this? – Gillian A: Unfortunately, removing an iOS device from your Devices list in iTunes doesn’t actually disassociate the device with your iTunes in the Cloud account as far as the device…

Q: I have four computers authorized for Home Sharing, and when accessing my other libraries, two of the three icons that show up are like a little house, while the other one is like a little musical note in a square box. When I try to access the library of the one with the musical note, I don’t get a show menu line at the bottom of the screen; no import box or anything else. How can I fix this so it functions like the other ones? I tried logging…
