Article: Editorial: iLounge On 2012’s iPods, iPhone 5 + Lightning

Plenty of digital ink has already been spilled following yesterday’s debut of the iPhone 5, two new iPod models, and Apple’s new Lightning connector—amazingly, “reviews” of the new devices are already appearing online after 15-minute hands-on sessions. Perhaps by design, so many small new things were announced during and after the event that it was hard to take a step back and consider the bigger picture. So that’s…

3 Stars Screen Protector Problem
I bought this for my son’s new iPod touch G2. Everything was great, EXCEPT the screen protector… could NOT get the air bubbles out. The company, who was EXTREMELY RESPONSIVE shipped out 2 more … to no avail. I’ve used “Invisible Shield” from Zagg for my other iPods … I’m going to buy one from them for my son’s.

5 Stars Usefull accessories
This is a really good addition for anyone with an iPhone or iPod touch. I bought the iPod touch and have used every one of the components with total satisfaction.

4 Stars Good choice
This is a very basic black case that protects the iTouch well, if in a non-descript way. It is tough and durable, and has yet to show a scratch or a blemish from use. The chargers both are great – well worth the money, and the screen protector does the job. I saved a lot of money choosing this product, and I’m glad I did.

5 Stars Stephen – Charlotte, NC
My wife wants this set for her iTouch. So far, I hear no complaints from her and she is very picky.

4 Stars Itouch accessories
The products works as stated. And for the amount spent seems to serve the purpose well. The cords seem a flimsy but so far function perfectly. The hard plastic case is a good protector from daily use and helps prevent scratches. Once the cover is on it is a challenge to remove. The clear screen protector works perfectly, but took me many tries to get it on without dust, hairs or bubbles.

News: Apple resellers claim iPod discontinuations

Citing sources from Apple Authorized Resellers, Ars Technica reports that the entire current lineup of iPods has been discontinued. Stock of the current screened iPods, announced and released last September, is dwindling, with no more expected to come in; the fate of the third-generation iPod shuffle, released earlier this year, is unclear. Apple is reportedly planning a special event for early September—possibly as soon as Sept. 9—to…
