Apple iPod shuffle 1 GB Blue 2nd Generation OLD MODEL

The 1 GB iPod shuffle lets you wear up to 240 songs on your sleeve. Or your lapel. Or your belt. And now it’s available in your choice of remixed colors. Clip on iPod shuffle and wear it as a badge of musical devotion.

Controls
iPod shuffle pays respect to its bigger siblings with a circular control pad that puts the “go” in ergonomic. Click the center button to play and pause. Click the outer buttons to move back, skip forward, and adjust volume.

Pop the iPod shuffle into the included dock and sync with iTunes. View iPod shuffle dimensions.

The shuffle switch lets you mix up the iPod contents, or play playlists in the order you want. View larger.

Clip
Thanks to a built-in clip, iPod shuffle goes with anything. Clip it to your sleeve, lapel, coin pocket. No matter where you wear it, iPod shuffle speaks volumes about your style.

Shuffle switch
Embrace your inner rebel: Flip the shuffle switch to mix up iPod shuffle’s contents. Flip it again to play your handpicked playlists and albums in the order you synced them from iTunes.

Battery indicator
Green means go, amber means you’re low, and red means you’ve almost hit zero. But with up to 12 hours of battery life, the iPod shuffle may keep rocking even longer than you do.

Headphone jack
The headphone jack does double-duty as a dock connector. Flip iPod shuffle upside-down and drop it into the included dock. Connect the dock to your Mac or PC for a quick sync and charge. Away from your computer? Charge on the go with the optional Apple USB power adapter.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars I love my Shuffle!
What is there to say about the iPod shuffle that hasn’t already been said in the other 300+ reviews?

So here are the five things *I* like best about it:

It’s small and lightweight and goes right into my shirt pocket.

It’s inexpensive so if i lose or break it or if it is stolen no big deal.

I can use the controls without looking at it.

It holds just the right amount of music.

Sand doesn’t mess it up at the beach.

The charge lasts a long time.

Okay, so that’s six.

Anyway, I’ve had my shuffle for 2 1/2 years and I still love it.

5 Stars Great for the gym.
This is my first Ipod and it’s better than I expected. The sound is very cd like. You can play the songs as you arrange them with the I tunes software or use the shuffle feature to mix up your playlist. The player is very portable and is great for use at the gym.

5 Stars Great Product
I received the product in a timely manner. It looked new, and works perfect.

I would recommend this seller.

5 Stars Shuffle Ipod -good to go
The 1 GB shuffle is pretty as it is easy to take on the go. A great answer to a lightweight version of the ipod.

5 Stars Just what my daughter wanted, great price, quick service!
We knew we cold get this in a local store immediately, but no tonly was this a better price, but better choice of colors (very important for girls) and speedy delivery – not even a week!

5 Stars ipod hipcase
Leather hipcase fits my new ipod classic perfectly. I’m using it right now! The purchase and delivery was fast and completely painless.

5 Stars DLO IPOD Case
This is a great and stylish case for the IPOD Classic. I am very happy with it. It looks very elegant and provides great protection. I recommend it highly.

5 Stars A perfect fit for my new 120GB iPod Classic!
I’ve had my Apple iPod classic 120 GB Black (6th Generation) NEWEST MODEL for a few days now and it has been a little terrifying whenever I put it in my pocket. I have to remember if that is the same pocket that my keys are in. I’ve learned that the screen is pretty resiliant, however now I can just put my iPod in my pocket or on my belt and not have to worry at all. The magnetic grip on the cover is a nice touch. I wasn’t aware that it had it, and that makes it all that much better.

5 Stars Really nice case
The last case I had was a hard plastic one which kept my iPod free of scratches, but did very little else – not even preventing dirt from getting underneath, I had to open it up periodically to clean it. Not to mention it offered no cushioning whatsoever whenever I dropped it. So I find this one a *huge* improvement – the leather’s soft, it isn’t a pillow but it does offer some subtle cushioning. It’s made of strong sturdy stuff, elastic on both sides so it can accommodate the 160 gig, but it isn’t at all loose around my 120 gig. It is, in fact, very very snug – impossible to jostle within the case. The flip cover works well too, with a nice magnet keeping it closed that isn’t too weak or strong – the belt clip magnet is very strong, but that’s good too. There’s a hole at the bottom to plug in the cable to charge it, and the one at the top for earphones is big enough so it doesn’t twist it when you open the cover. Also, it’s impossible to press the touchwheel by pressing on the outside cover. Another plus!

3 Stars Good if it would stay put
I had this case for over a year and my only complaint was that it was too easy to knock off my side. This recently became a big problem as I knocked it off my waistband and into my bucket of mop water. Goodbye Ipod. I liked the case itself, but when I get my replacement Ipod, I’ll be looking for something that will STAY PUT.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Excelent Product
This is an excelent product, it works just fine and i cant get enough of it!

5 Stars Great product!
I’ve owned 4 Ipods, and this one is really nice. I like the amount of music it holds. If you are only interested in storing music, this Ipod will do the trick.

1 Star First and last Apple product
The one-star review is because of Apple’s attitude towards its customers. I don’t know how well the 120GB iPod Classic works because I’m unable to set it up. A series of calls to Apple tech support resulted in a string of refusals.

First, be aware that you MUST have a broadband connection in order to use any iPod. Amazon does not include that information in its product description. As a first-time Apple customer, I was not aware of this… nor was I aware of the degree to which they enforce control over how you will use their products.

If you buy the player, you will not receive either a manual or the iTunes software that you need to use it. Eliminating manuals is “green”, they say. Not including them in the package is fine, but they should be available on request. I don’t see how my growing stack of inkjet-printed, stapled-together “owner’s manuals” is any better for the environment than a smaller, professionally printed manual. This seems to be something that’s only good for Apple. (Also, note that in addition to a download-only manual, you are limited to ONE technical support call. This is not a user-friendly company.)

The big problem, though, is the iTunes software. This is bloatware beyond anything I’ve seen yet… almost 75MB, with no options for anyone who just wants to copy mpegs onto the player’s disc. Apple support says you can download the software via a dialup — it only takes about eight hours — but in the real world, no dialup connection will stay alive that long. My options? A hundred-mile round trip to an Apple store for a copied disc, or find someone with the software and copy it from them (of course, Apple won’t support me if I’m using this “pirated” software, either).

I really don’t understand why Apple can’t send out a disc with the current software on request. I used to write firmware for products that could be upgraded on the fly via the Internet, but if a customer requested a disc, that was no problem. A few cents in materials, and a few minutes of our time. Apple’s reason seems to be, “we won’t do it because we haven’t done it lately. If we do it for you we’ll have to do it for everybody. And this way we can control it.” That’s infantile and arrogant. They also feel that I don’t fit their techno-elite user profile, so I should just go away. (My impression was that iPods were pretty much commodity items by now, not cutting edge technology.) If this is typical Apple attitude, it’s my last contact with the company.

My only practical option, I guess, is to return the player to Amazon and look for a simple, no-frills unit that doesn’t require an expensive broadband connection (if they exist). As far as I’m concerned, this product is sold incomplete, with required components missing.

5 Stars Wonderful!!!!!!!!
LOVE IT! I had the first 60GIG photo so this was a great upgrade. A must have…

5 Stars I’m So Worth This!
You do one of two things with your music. You listen to it or you experience it. If listening to your music is all you need, you can get less expensive players, like my SanDisk and Zune players which work just fine.

However, if you like to experience your music as I do, this the player. To help put it in perspective, imagine that you’ve walked into a local stereo store and all the usual consumer models are on the floor with feature knock off lists, sale tags and all the other usual merchandising yadda-yadda. If you just need something for listing to music, shop for the best overall value to fit your needs.

On the other hand…

At that back of the store is that sealed glass door that leads to the listening room. Curious to see the difference, you step in and the sales person fires up a high end model and what happens next can be incredible. There you are standing in the middle of the room with your eyes closed as the music pours over you and in a matter of moments you say to yourself, “I’m so worth this.”

That was what happened to me. I’ve always bought CDs and then ripped them to 320KB MP3s and they sounded good on my SanDisk and Zune. But when I listened to them for the first time with this new iPod model, I said to myself, “I’m so worth this.”

Sure, the 120GB is great for storing all your max bandwidth music, videos and the odd kitchen sink, but there is that undeniable Apple panache for elegant, yet simple functionality. It’s there and it makes listening to your collection easier than the rest.

So there it is. If you’re shopping for a listening value, move along to the less expensive models. However, if you want to experience your music as though you were standing in that listening room, you’ve found what you’re looking for. While you’re at it, get the DLO HipCase Leather Folio Case too. It’s really nice.
